Cradles to Crayons Every season we gather clothing, toys, and items needed by children of all ages. We go volunteer at Cradles to Crayons, which serves Massachusetts children in homeless or low-income families.
If you can help us in collecting needed items for children, and/or in working and volunteering at Cradles to Crayons, please contact Wendy at [email protected], or Katherine at [email protected]. |
Feeding the Hungry of Bristol LodgeFor the past 27 years, Payson Park Church has cooked and prepared a homemade meal each month, and then served it to feed all the hungry who come to Bristol Lodge Food Kitchen in Waltham.
Cynthia began this amazing ministry 27 years ago, and is still going strong. Today she is joined by co-leaders Kay and Pam. Please email any of them if you can help us by cooking and/or serving on the fourth Tuesday of the month. Cynthia: [email protected] Kay: [email protected] Pam: [email protected] Even in this time of Covid-19, we are are still feeding the hungry at Bristol Lodge. If you can make sandwiches, please contact our Bristol Lodge ministry leaders. Thank you! |

Sandwich-MakingAbout every six weeks, we also make hundreds of sandwiches to be handed at Bristol Lodge Men's Shelter and Bristol Lodge Food Kitchen.
If you can help us prepare these beloved sandwiches for the hungry, please contact Wendy at [email protected]. In this time of great need and hunger during the pandemic, we have taken on another sandwich-making ministry. Every few weeks we now make dozens of sandwiches for The Outdoor Church. |
Sponsoring a Refugee Family We have partnered with New Roads Catholic parishes, to co-sponsor a refugee family, now settled in Belmont.
We work with POWIR, People/Parishes Organized to Welcome Immigrants & Refugees. Pictured to the right is the concert we held to raise funds for POWIR and our refugee family. We welcomed hundreds of community residents into this event. Many music groups generously gave of their wonderful talent to support a family in need, escaping war, terror, and hunger. |
Prayer Shawls for Hospice We have a dedicated and faithful group of knitters and crocheters. We meet every Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm in the MacDonald Room Church Parlor. Please drop in and visit us, for friendly conversation.
Every year we donate all our Prayer Shawls to local Hospice organizations. We pray over our work, that it may bring comfort to all families walking with their loved ones through Hospice. Many families have shared with us how much comfort this brings them. |
CityReach with Boston's Homeless Every year our Teens go on a CityReach retreat. We are paired with a Guide from "common cathedral" - a community of the unhoused and recently unhoused around the Boston Common. Our Guide gives us a tour of homeless conditions on Friday night, and then we sleep overnight at St. Paul's Cathedral.
We bring in donated winter coats, new white socks, and new underwear from our congregation. With other Teen church youth groups, and working with our homeless Guide, we provide a ministry of welcome, and hand out socks and coats to the hundreds of homeless on Saturday morning. |
