First Time Visitors

What happens during church?

As you enter the church, a friendly usher will greet you and give you a bulletin to guide you through the service. Our Sunday service features reading, preaching, prayer, and music. At times, you will be invited to stand, sing, pray, greet your neighbor, be in silence, or read responsively.

Communion is offered on the first Sunday of the month. Our communion table is open to everyone regardless of religious affiliation. On communion Sundays, we also collect canned goods and dry food items for food pantries in Belmont and Watertown. We call it The Active Prayer of Thanksgiving.

Each Sunday during worship we receive an offering, which goes to support the church’s ministries. We welcome your gifts and encourage everyone to give as you are able. If you are unable to give financially, we encourage you to consider giving of your time or abilities to the church, another organization, or a neighbor in need.

Where do I park?

Ample street parking is available on Belmont Street and Payson Road.

Do you offer childcare or church school?

We are a family-friendly church and welcome all children (and their parents!) to participate in our church school programs of learning, music and service. Throughout the year, childcare is available from 9:00 to noon on Sunday and church school programs are offered for children for infants through high school.

How long do services last?

Sunday worship typically runs about an hour.

Is there a coffee hour or fellowship time after church?

Every Sunday there is a coffee hour or fellowship time after church.  Come by and meet old and new friends.

How can I get more information?

Please feel free to chat with our pastor after church or one of our members or ushers. You can also contact our church administrator at 617-484-1542 or office@paysonpark.org.
